CT Blue Card Renewal
Annual Requalification • Live Fire • Maintain Armed Status
This course is for currently certified armed security officers who need to complete their annual Connecticut Blue Card requalification.

This is a four-hour requalification session which includes both classroom and range time.

What This Course Is

There will be a four-hour classroom session covering topics pertaining to use of force and associated state statutes. Following the classroom portion will be the annual requalification at the range.


You must qualify with EACH firearm you wish to continue carrying on duty. The first two firearms are included in your tuition. Additional firearms will incur a $20 additional fee per firearm, payable in class. Additionally, you MUST qualify with the SAME ammunition that you will be carrying on duty.

Qualification Standards
  • Same course of fire as initial certification
  • 60 rounds per course (240 total)
  • 4 runs, best 3 averaged
  • 80% minimum to pass
  • 2–25 yard distances
Requirements
  • Valid CT Guard Card
  • Valid CT Pistol Permit
  • Current Blue Card (expiring or active)
  • Duty firearm + 240 rounds
  • Duty holster
  • Three magazines and magazine holders
  • NOTE: THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO LOADED FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOM! FIREARMS MUST BE IN A LOCKED CONTAINER AND WILL BE INSPECTED BY YOUR INSTRUCTOR.
